Head Online
If your team is all over the country, getting together for a night out simply might not be feasible. Instead, it might be a better idea for you to get together virtually. This is one of the many work Christmas party ideas that is growing in popularity as more people work from home.
This can be as involved or as simple as you might like. Some people might prefer just a chill night on Zoom chatting, but there are plenty of other activities that you could try. You could come together to play a fun game online, or even partake in a virtual murder mystery or some other fun event. Don’t think that you are limited in what you are able to do simply because you have to be online. There are still plenty of options open for those who want to enjoy a virtual night out!
Stay in the Office
Of course, you have the option to stay in the office if you choose. This might be more feasible for smaller teams or departments within a much larger company. Even if you do not go out, there are some great options to create the perfect night. Get some Christmas tunes on, order some pizzas, and get ready to party!
Rather than stick to the classic team-building games, you should look for some fun alternatives that might bring everyone together. For example, you might wish to find some board games that are good to play in teams or with a lot of people. These can bring out a competitive edge in people in just the right way and can help to build bonds with your team in ways you might not expect. Why not try a scavenger hunt too? If you have a whole building to play with, this can be great fun!
Take a Day Off
Some teams might just appreciate the extra day off – especially so close to Christmas. Shutting the office and just letting everyone get on with their own thing can be reward enough for some and will allow them to do whatever they please rather than have to come up with an outfit and everything that goes into a work’s night out.
If you do decide that you just want to do the day off, make sure that you also reward your employees in some other way. You could deliver a hamper or some cocktails directly to their house, or you could give them a gift voucher for a spa or their favourite restaurant. A Christmas Party is often about making your employees feel appreciated, and just giving them the day off might not achieve this. Adding in a little extra something will be much more worth it.
Don’t think that you have to go out on the town and book a restaurant for a Christmas Party if you don’t want to. There is so much competition to try to find a good spot that it might not always be worth it. If you don’t want to go out for a Christmas party, there will always be something that you can come up with as an alternative. Have a think and see what would best suit your team now.
