Tennis fans or not, the country always seems to get drawn into Wimbledon, it’s become part of British culture. Strawberries and cream, Sue Barker and shouts of “Come on Tim” have consistently filled the two period for years now.
This year you can shout out heckles whilst watching the biggest stars in tennis from Manchester city-centre with all the action being shown on a big screen at First Street. With fake grass to sit on and plenty of bars and restaurants surrounding the area, you can be set for a whole afternoon / evening or just pop out for an after-work drink and soak up the atmosphere.
Whilst British hopes for a title may not be as high as previous years, there is still plenty of action to enjoy with Kyle Edmund looking to put on a show for the Brit supporters, Murray taking part in doubles action and fan favourites such as Federer, Nadal and Williams all featuring.
If the sun is shining, First Street looks like the place to be for the next two weeks, so get yourself down there and top up your tan whilst enjoying the world’s finest players do battle to bring home the famous trophy.
