Snuggle up with a cosy, romantic cinema at Victoria Baths this Valentine’s Weekend

This Valentine’s weekend, The Village Screen is returning to Manchester’s Grade ll listed water palace – Victoria Baths – and turning the Gala Pool into a cosy pop-up cinema, with screenings of Tarantino’s masterpiece True Romance on Friday 14th February, and hilarious romcom Bridesmaids on Saturday 15th February.

First on the big screen is True Romance; a Tarantino cool classic and the ultimate in dark, funny and violent. This film sees a comic-book nerd marry an ex-prostitute, then accidentally steal a suitcase of cocaine from her pimp and embark on a dangerous journey whilst being followed by a mafia gang.

Next on the big screen is laugh out loud, Bridesmaids. This film is the ultimate in female-driven comedy. Written and starred by Kristen Wiig, it sees maid of honour Annie turn into a bridesmaid-Zilla as she leads her fellow bridesmaids on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Why not don your best, retro, bridesmaids outfits for the occasion, grab your besties and join in the action?

Before each film screening, audience members can explore the beauty of the Baths, before tucking into some tasty street food and enjoying a DJ on the decks. There will also be a pop-up bar serving themed cocktails, hot boozy drinks, hot chocolates, Prosecco, wines, and local beers. Audience members can grab some fresh popcorn before snuggling down on cute, candy-striped deckchairs inside the Gala Pool to watch the films or on original wooden seating overlooking the pool on the Balcony level.

Two people, including cushions and blankets, are priced at £60. Online booking fees apply. They are also offering a free bucket of beer or a bottle of Prosecco for group bookings of 6 or more.
