ESCAPE TO FREIGHT ISLAND ANNOUNCES SUMMER LINE-UP AT PLATFORM 15

Platform 15, phase one of Escape to Freight Island - which opens to the public on Friday 24th July - announces music and arts programme. There will be performances and takeovers by both local and internationally renowned artists, collectives and club and festival brands.

The summer programme will also include Nancy Noise, Justin Robertson, Ruf Dug, DJ Paulette, Dave Haslam, Hit & Run, Reach Up Disco Wonderland with Andy Smith & Nick Halkes and Krysko. Mr Wilson’s Second Liners will provide live performances.

Additional takeovers will include; the Manchester music institution of Band on the Wall, Black Pride_MCR presents House of Ghetto’s Vogue Takeover which will transport you to the 60s Harlem ballrooms. Manchester’s online community radio Reform Radio. Notorious Bristol street artist – Sickboy – painting his latest mural live. The legendary Golden Lion Todmorden and family friendly raves will be hosted by The Playhouse Project. Brand-new queer cabaret – Amuse Bouche – presenting Kiss Me Again. Jungle Julia, CVNT TRAXXX - fresh from BBC's Deep in Vogue – and Thom Docking of Drunk at Vogue, Hot Space every Sunday. Regal Disco Vs Me Gusta, Mix-Stress, So Flute, and Love Party complete the all-encompassing list of talent.

At the very heart of Escape to Freight Island will be its selection of food and drink to complete your journey of escape. Live-fire Basque cooking from Baratxuri, 22” New York pizza pies by the slice from Voodoo Ray’s, tacos for the soul from Madre, finished with master pâtissier, vegan doughnuts and coffee by Krum. All wash down with drinks from the north’s craft brewer of the moment, Pomona Island. Classic lager, pale ale and IPA from Camden Town Brewery and Kopparberg will be serving fruit cider and Kopparberg Hard Seltzers. The City of Manchester Distillery - Manchester’s favourite distillers creating a unique Escape to Freight Island.
