1. Foodie Friday
Situated in and around the iconic Grade II Listed Victorian Market Hall, Foodie Friday is an evening out for the whole family or the perfect place to catch up with your friends. Hosted on the last Friday of every month, Foodie Friday sees some of the best street food in the North West on offer as hundreds of people descend on Stockport Market. The food and drink available is of the highest standard and we can’t say any more than get it in your diary as it’s worth it!
2. Staircase House
Famous for having one of only three surviving Jacobean cage-newel staircases in the country, Staircase House allows you to delve into Stockport’s oldest town house, learning about our ancestors and how they once lived. The hands-on historical experience is a must for anyone who loves history and the heritage of the Greater Manchester area.
3. Stockport County FC
A club with huge history and now record holders for the highest attendance in non-league football, Stockport County are heading into the new season having been promoted to the National League. You can expect one of the best atmospheres around with a huge local fanbase, passionate supporters and an all-round cracking day out.
4. Robinson’s Brewery Visitor Centre
Robinson’s is one of the oldest names in British brewing history having developed a proud name and reputation for Real Ale. The visitor centre tour gives you insights not only into the current day brewing processes but also how the brewery has developed over the years. Informative, engaging and perfect for any beer lover.

5. The Produce Hall
The recently opened Produce Hall is still developing with new stalls being introduced frequently. All situated inside the historic Produce Hall market space, the venue is filled with an eclectic mix of food and drink offerings. Exciting new additions include Marple independents Angkor Soul and Chaat Cart bringing some powerful Asian flavours to the hall.

6. X-Gen VR
New to the area X-Gen VR are taking gaming to the next level, if you think you have tried VR gaming before, you won’t have seen anything like X-Gen. You can experience everything from battle pods to Gatling guns and even motorbike racing. With luxury VR rooms as well as the usual VR arcade there is something for everyone.
7. Stockport Plaza
The Super Cinema and Theatre makes for a cracking day out for all the family, whether you’re looking to watch something on the big screen or take in some live entertainment. Keep your eyes peeled across their social media and website for what’s coming up and book in a day!
8. Merseyway Shopping Centre
Stockport’s prime shopping destination, Merseyway shopping centre is packed full of spots to shop until you drop. With everything from Debenhams to HMV and Primark to River Island, including everything in between. Whatever your need, you will find a shop that has it. Keep your eyes peeled for the special events and offers as well!
9. Stockport Air Raid Shelters
The shelters are an incredible insight into wartime living and the experiences people in Britain went through. The intriguing tunnels are accompanied with an audio-guide to talk you through your surroundings and let you head back in time. The shop includes some 1940s mementos to take away.
10. Where the Light Gets In
If you haven’t heard about Where the Light Gets In then where have you been hiding. The restaurant which offers a unique dining experience where there is no menu but each evening the dishes are created from the days harvest and food from their farm. The staff will move between tables and tell the tales of the farm and where the inspiration for each dish came from.

11. Lord of the Pies
The brand that you can also find at Foodie Friday are stationed in Stockport throughout the week so you can always get your fill of delicious pies. With a variety of fillings to pick up on the go and plenty of specials, what better fuel for the day is there than a hearty pie and mash?
12. Remedy Bar & Brewhouse
The Remedy bar is an independent brewery and taphouse serving everything from craft ales, to pilsners. You can sip your drinks with some hearty food, from burgers to burrito Fridays where you can get a burrito and side for just a tenner! Our eyes are also on the hanging kebabs. The venue also has numerous events that will have you flocking to Stockport Old Town.
13. Stockport Viaduct
If you have ever driven past Stockport, you will have seen the spectacular Stockport Viaduct which stands proud overlooking the town. Often the focal point of many artists work from paintings to beautiful photography, the architecture really is amazing. If you haven’t seen the structure lit up at night and the sheer size of it then definitely check it out.
