The Diner With the Largest Selection of American Drinks in Manchester

Whether you like to hunt out a Root Beer, sip on a Mountain Dew or enjoy the flavour packed Arizona cans then Grand Daddy’s Diner is for you with their huge selection of American drinks.

Grand Daddy’s Diner, located on Grosvenor Street, not only serves up the hearty burgers you expect from an American diner, they also have one of the largest selections of American drinks around. The drinks are incredible just not easy to find in the UK but Grand Daddy’s have pulled it out of the bag with their selection and we are going to take you through a few of our favourites on offer: 

1. A&W Root Beer & Cream Soda 

We just had to start with the classics, Root Beer has always been a gem of a drink but no one does it quite like A&W. The distinctive flavour means you let out that refreshing ‘ahhh’ of enjoyment when the first sip goes down. 

2. Mountain Dew Pitch Black 

If you think you know Mountain Dew because you’ve tried the UK version then you are so wrong. Not only is the traditional version in America pretty different (and so much better) but the Pitch Black flavour is a twist on the original with black grape mixed in. If you’ve been to the states you will know that grape is a pretty common flavour and Mountain Dew nailed it with this twist, it went from being a limited edition to permanent! 

3. Arizona 

Arizona are famous for their big can drinks and at Grand Daddy’s Diner there are so many great flavours to choose from including: Cherry Lime Rickey, Grape Lime Rickey, Iced Tea, Iced Tea with Lemon, Iced Tea with Raspberry, Fruit Juice Cocktail, Mucho Mango, Watermelon, Grapeade, Orangeade, Lemonade, Fruit Punch and Rickey, a soda variation of Arizona drinks. On a hot day TGTM recommends the watermelon, it’s the perfect drink with a superb sweet taste. 

4. Dr Pepper Vanilla Float 

This is as good as it sounds. Your original Dr Pepper taste infused with a vanilla ice cream flavour for the effect of a float. (If you have never had a Coke or Dr Pepper float before, you need to try one!) 

5. Fanta – US Exclusive Flavours 

We all know how good Fanta is and to us a Fanta Lemon is those hot Summer days or a holiday away but have you ever tried Green Apple? Or even Fanta Mango? At Grand Daddy’s you can, along with Fruit Punch, Pineapple, Apple, Peach, Berry, Cherry, Grape, Strawberry and the original Orange flavour that was changed for the UK after sugar tax was introduced. 

6. Canada Dry 

Ginger Ale at its finest. Canada Dry has stood the test of time and gained popularity over the years, with the brand in operation for over a century. It’s a classic and one that works with everything. 

7. TaB 

You’d be forgiven for not knowing what TaB is but it is in fact the work of the Coca-Cola company. TaB is a diet cola style drink and was the first diet drink that the company produced. It was hugely popular in the 70s and 80s but with the brand now offering other alternatives the drink isn’t produced in the same quantity. However, Grand Daddy’s Diner have managed to get their hands on some for you to enjoy! 

8. Big Red 

Famous for its red colour and unique flavour, Big Red is a firm choice with us. The brand which is known for making sugared gums including their iconic cinnamon flavour, produced this take on a cream soda. Often mistaken for a bubblegum taste, it is actually created using a combination orange, lemon and vanilla. 

9. Pepsi-Cola Made With Real Sugar 

Made with real sugar may not sound impressive, but most drinks these days are made with high fructose corn syrup and the Pepsi recipe was changed in the 80s in exactly that way. Grand Daddy’s have searched high and low and have sourced some of the real sugar drink, with it even coming in retro packaging. 

10. Yoo-Hoo Chocolate 

A choclate milk style drink, in a can. Yep you read that right. Only in America right? You know what though, it works and is the perfect alternative to a milkshake when eating that beautiful burger as you kick back, content with a full stomach. 

The Best of the Rest

Grand Daddy’s Diner also has Dr Pepper Cherry, Dr Pepper Cherry Vanilla, Dr Pepper Retro, Pepsi Wild Cherry, Coca-Cola Cherry, Sprite Cherry and more! When a new shipment comes in, who knows, you might find even more flavours to try. If you’re anything like us then we were trying about three different drinks in one sitting to wash down your burger. We would recommend the Grand Daddy’s Double burger! Some of the best burger restaurants in Manchester offer great flavours but we know the American style can top the lot. 

We thought we had hunted out every tasty soda from the states but boy were we wrong! Grand Daddy’s Diner have flavours we didn’t even know existed and now we’ve got a few new favourites, it really is one of the fun places to eat in Manchester. With around 40 varieties you’re bound to find something new or something you love.
