In case you missed it see what’s in this section
1. Vesper Martini – James Bond
We just had to include this one so we thought we would put it first. It’s a classic, simple, easy to make and drunk by possibly the smoothest man to hit the big screen.
Ingredients:
- 75ml No.3 Gin
- 25ml Black Cow Vodka
- 12.5ml Lillet Dry Vermouth
Served in: Martini Glass
Garnish: Lemon Peel
Method: Combine all the spirits but as tempting as it is to shake them as Bond always asks for, don't do this as it ruins the drink, pour into a chilled glass, stir and then add your garnish.
2. White Russian – The Big Lebowski
The Big Lebowski is an absolute cult classic of a film from the Coen Brothers with the lead character Jeff Lebowski mistaken for his millionaire namesake and the White Russian cocktail features heavily. We won’t ruin the bizarre plot as it will have you laughing throughout.

- 37.5ml Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
- 37.5ml Light Cream
Served in: Whiskey Glass

3. Old Fashioned – Mad Men
One of the biggest TV shows in history, Mad Men, set in the 1960s follows an advertising agency in Manhattan and the high-pressure world that they get wrapped up in. It’s a brilliant show and the Old Fashioned is a drink that was huge in the era Mad Men takes place in so it’s no surprise that’s the one we’ve picked (also because it might be one of our favourites).

4. Mississippi Punch – Breakfast at Tiffany’s

5. Cosmopolitan – Sex and the City

6. Green Russian – Archer
It’s not a movie but if you haven’t checked out the TV show Archer then you need to. The comedy animation is hilarious, it is almost like taking all the stereotypes and clichés of James Bond and amplifying them to the extreme, mostly so when it comes to the drinking as the lead character Sterling Archer never seems to be without a drink. In one-episode Archer decides to make a Green Russian and even states “This is the only time I’ll say be careful with a cocktail” as it’s got a kick and needs a balance. Check out the recipe below.

- 25ml La Fée Absinthe

- 12.5ml Riottet Creme de Menthe
- 25ml Milk
Served in: Whiskey Glass

7. The Red Eye – Cocktail
How could we not include something from a movie named Cocktail? Tom Cruise stars in the film as he works as a bartender to pay for his college degree in order to get the dream job. Of course, there is drama along the way but also some great drinks so here is the recipe for a Red Eye and it’s not for everyone.

8. Sweet Vermouth – Groundhog Day
If you’re going to relive the same day over and over again then why not do it with a great drink. The comedy starring Bill Murray is a cracker and another one that everyone seems to have watched. With this drink being a prominant part of the film we had to include it, even though it’s one of the most simple around.
Ingredients:
- Either; La Quintinye Vermouth Royal, Vermut Lustau or Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino (Sweet Vermouth)
Served in: Whiskey Glass
Garnish: Lemon Twist
Method: Fill your glass with ice and pour over the sweet vermouth before adding your lemon twist.
9. Moloko Plus – A Clockwork Orange

10. French 75 – Casablanca
There are a few stories about the creation of the French 75 and in the movie Casablanca it’s certainly the standout drink ordered at the bar which the movie centres around. Sharp, sweet and classy, here’s how to make it.

11. Suntory Whisky – Lost in Translation
Bill Murray makes another appearance in our list with the film Lost in Translation, it seems like every inclusion has been a classic so if you are a film buff you will have probably seen them all. Well it might not be a cocktail but we thought it was worth adding to the list.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Suntory Whisky
Served in: Whiskey Glass
Garnish: None
Method: Simply pour into your glass with your preference of ice or no ice.
12. Chianti – Silence of the Lambs
Well this isn’t a cocktail at all but we thought we would add a couple of interesting additions at the end! Hannibal Lecter famously used to drink red wine throughout the movie, just enjoy it with your Sunday roast or steak not like the mad man himself.
Ingredients:
- Conti Serristori Chianti
Served in: Wine Glass
13. Chardonnay – Bridget Jones’ Diary
Again, a bit of fun to round off our article. Bridget Jones has plenty of tough luck and the scenes of eating plenty of ice cream and drinking white wine is something pretty much all of us can relate to, so why not grab a nice bottle in honour of the modern day rom-com classic.
Ingredients:
- Macon-Villages Chardonnay
Served in: The Bottle
