Bestselling author, speaker and coach Taz Thornton named Female Business Professional of the Year for Central England

Inspirational speaker, coach and author Taz Thornton has been recognised as a woman of influence in the business community after being named Female Business Professional of the Year for Central England.

“It was quite a shock to be told I was an award winner. I’m grateful, delighted and humbled to have my work acknowledged in this way,” Taz who is currently running her successful coaching business from her home in Lincolnshire.  

Taz was gifted her award as part of The Corporate Livewire Prestige Awards which are now in their 16th year. Organisers of these internationally renowned awards made the decision in 2020 to introduce regional awards to recognise smaller, independent businesses that are extremely successful. 

The judges said they were impressed with Taz’s personal touch, consistency of reviews and community feel. 

“The passion for what you do really comes across and we hope this achievement brings more success during these difficult times,” they said.  

The judging panel based their decisions upon service excellence, quality of the product or service provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, as well as consistency in performance. 

Taz said: “This award proves your past absolutely does not need to define your future. My journey in life has been one of highs and the lows. From the outside I seemed to have made it with a dazzling business and corporate career but this was just what people saw on the outside.

“No one knew that I’d been through an abusive relationship resulting in me having to go into hiding or the illness I endured,surviving day-to-day on anti-depressants and walking on sticks. Those are often the experiences we try to bury deep hide or forget about – yet they really do have the power to turn our future endeavours into gold! 

“I’m proud to support people to move through their experience, embrace their true authentic selves and ‘unleash their own awesome’. For the panel of judges to recognise that through this award is amazing.”

Taz will be officially presented with her award at an event in Birmingham in the near future. She’s known internationally as an inspirational speaker globally, she’s delivered three TEDx talks, is a regular columnist for America Out Loud and is a campaigner around LBGTQ+ rights.
