Greater Manchester’s £2 bus fare cap stays despite national increase

Greater Manchester’s bus fares will remain capped at £2 for single rides into 2025, keeping prices steady even as the rest of England prepares for a fare hike.

Mayor Andy Burnham confirmed the decision, highlighting Greater Manchester’s ongoing transformation of the public transit system under the Bee Network.

This initiative will introduce a simplified fare structure and a London-style contactless payment system with daily and weekly caps starting in March.
